Website Design - Terms and Conditions
PayPal or direct bank transer is the only form of payment Buzz Monkey Media accepts. If you do not have a PayPal account, you may pay invoices securely by inputting your credit card information directly through the PayPal website.
Due to the nature of design work , I require that the price quote for your project be paid in full before the design process begins if the fee is £700 or less. I have a strict no-refund policy, so please do not make any payments until you are sure you would like to move forward.
Once I have started your project, if you fail to respond to emails and do not attempt to make any other form of contact for more than 90 consecutive days, all monies are forfeited to Buzz Monkey Media and I will terminate your project without notice. Should this occur and you request to resume your project at any time in the future, it will be at my sole discretion and additional charges may apply.
Generally you can expect to receive a draft of your design within 2 weeks from the day I begin your project, but I will confirm the exact timeline with you via email. Each revision of your design may take an additional 2-4 business days depending on the complexity of your request. Once a design has been approved via email, I will likely complete the live install within 48 hours.
Please note that all timelines are merely estimates, and ultimately I will take whatever time necessary to provide you with a quality finished product. Due to the variable nature of blog/web design, delays do occasionally happen and are not considered grounds for a refund.
Once you have placed your order, I ask that you check your email frequently. Failure to respond in a timely manner (no more than 2 or 3 business days) may result in your design being put on hold. If this happens, other projects will take precedence and I may not resume your project for up to 3 weeks from the date you are ready to move forward.
Scope of Blog/Web Design Services
The installation phase of your web project includes the installation & configuration of my custom theme and plugins.
Unless you have made arrangements with me in advance and I have specifically included it within your quote, the scope of your project does not include the management or creation of copy or content. This includes but is not limited to any of the following: Posts, pages, navigation links, widgets, and categories/tags. All such content will be provided by the client.
Unless you specify otherwise at the time you place your order, all blog and web designs will be created at 1200 pixels wide at web resolution (72 PPI, which is not a suitable resolution for printed materials). You will be charged an additional fee for print-ready files.
Drafts & Edits
Because I am paid per project rather than hourly in most cases, it is vitally important that you communicate a solid and concise vision for your design before placing your order.
If you send over several one-liner emails requesting changes, it’s very time-consuming to sort through and also makes it easy for me to miss something. For that reason, each of your revisions must be contained within one email each, so be sure to take some time and really assess your design before responding.
Edits requested on a particular aspect of your design that you have given prior approval on (or edits you did not specify when you were given the opportunity to make revisions) will be made at an hourly rate of £40.
Extra Pages can be added at a rate of £60 per page.
Additional Features and functionality can be added. Please contact me to quote for additional functionality.
Copyrights & Liability
As the client, you will own full and unlimited rights to any design project I create for you (including but not limited to logo & brand designs, blog/web designs and designs for printed materials).
You are welcome to edit any designs I create for you as you see fit, or hire another designer to do so. Upon request, I will release any layered editable files to you upon completion of the project including Photoshop (.psd), Illustrator (.ai), and InDesign (.indd) or Sketch (.sketch). Note that all files will be provided to you as-is.
By rendering my services, you guarantee that you either own or have permission from the rightful owner to use any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks or other artwork you provide to The Design Creative.
Additionally, I cannot be held liable for the success of your blog or website, including but not limited to the sale of products/services and/or generating revenue.
Each of my designs are tested for cross-browser compatibility, meaning I ensure it will display properly in the most current versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari as of the date I install your new blog or web design live on your website. I cannot guarantee that your design will display properly in outdated or future versions of any web browser.
Your blog/web design is only guaranteed to display and function properly in the most current versions of WordPress as of the date your blog/web design officially launches, and is not guaranteed to be compatible with future or outdated versions of WordPress.
Content & Backups
I am not liable for any loss or damage to your blog or website content while installing your design, or any time before or after installation. To date, I have never lost or damaged a client’s content, but it can happen, and it is your responsibility to back up your website before and after the installation process.
I do not guarantee to have your design files backed up for any length of time. If for any reason your web or blog design is lost or damaged, I will fix or reinstall it for a fee if I have your files available.
Your privacy is very important to me. Often I will request your username and password to various accounts while working with you. This information will not be shared with anyone for any reason, and will only be used for the purpose of completing your project. You are welcome to temporarily change your password(s) while working with me.
